COVID-19 and Use of Special Interest Vehicles
HRCC members who have cars registered under the Special Interest Vehicle Scheme should make themselves aware of how their use of a SIV may be affected by the current COVID-19 restrictions. As you would know Australia is under travel and social gathering restrictions as outlined by the various State and National Governments with the common encouragement for everybody to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. Travel is restricted to:- . Travel to and from work . For medical attention and care . For exercise . Travel to local retailers for groceries, medication etc. There has been no update to the Queensland Government Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Guidelines on the use of vehicles registered under the Special Interest Vehicle Scheme during this time however members must abide by the current SIVS use-age guidelines and in accordance with the current Government regulations and restrictions regarding non essential travel and social distancing. To try to help clarify the situation, the QUEENSLAND HISTORIC MOTORING COUNCIL INC. has issued a document which owners of special interest vehicles should read.
