All
historic racing is controlled by the Confederation
of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) and is administered
and managed by the Historic Commission. Events
- Races, Sprints and Hill Climbs are conducted
by Clubs in all capital cities - are run for
the cars in accordance with their age and type.
A brief overview of the groups are:-

Group C - Cars which satisfy the eligibility requirements for Australian Group C Touring cars as promulgated by CAMS from 1973 to 1984 inclusive
Historic Formula Ford - includes Groups Q and R 1969 - 1983
Historic Sports Sedans Group U . Sports sedans with a racing history prior to 1986
Group Va cars are those with a competition history established in the period between 1 January 1965 and 31 December 1974, and have to comply with the Formula Vee regulations published in the 1974 CAMS Manual, except where specific variations are permitted.
Group Vb cars are those with a competition history established in the period between 1 January 1975 and 31 December 1985, and have to comply with the Formula Vee regulations published in the 1985 CAMS Manual, except where specific variations are permitted.
